Service Description

If the audience laughs at the Clown - The Bouffon laughs at the audience. Bouffons find great fun and pleasure in mocking everyone and everything as they reflect back to society how their social norms and social structures can be effortlessly parodied. Nothing is considered off-limit.   The Bouffon’s provocative nature and ferocious ecstasy will bring hidden things to the surface and unmask the collective games lying behind events.    There is no better time to use theatrical satire as a reaction to conservatism in these uncertain times, as we deal with our earth’s future and political turmoil.   Dive into the world of Bouffons and explore the dynamic of mocking in order to generate content as a Bouffon band.   The workshop will explore: Chorus work in creating a Bouffon band (a group of Bouffon).  Complicite´ with your Bouffon band and how to generate material and affect the audience. State of play of Bouffon (the Bouffon ‘state’, rhythms, rituals and mocking dynamics). How Bouffons mock through mimicry, musicality and character work. The grotesque body through amplification, puffing and deformation. How to devise a Bouffon work and engage in grotesque writing.    11th to the 15th of March, 2025 Weeknights: 6pm-9:30pm Saturday: 10am-5pm Price: $770 (incl. GST)
