Service Description
'The clown nose is an amplifier. It demands a truth and harmony that can only happen in the moment. Clowning made me understand that I didn't have to be good. I had to be true.' Shanda Bezic (Clown/Actor). Transform the fear of failing into the pleasure of playing and discover your clown. The focus of this class will be on exploring the relationship to the audience, abandoning preconceived ideas, learning to follow your sense of pleasure and developing a spirit of play as an ensemble. Through a series of exercises and games, we will embark on an 8-week journey of play, absurdity, and laughter! In this introductory workshop, we will focus on discovering your clown and bringing it out to play with the other clowns and the audience. Over 8 weeks our focus will be on ensemble building and on the development and creation of a clown routine as a class. This workshop is only open to 12 participants. Places are limited and acceptance is upon application. We will notify you once your application is successful. This class is open to both beginner and intermediate clowns. You don't have to be funny to join this class, just bring your fun. This workshop is open to anyone who is eager to explore and discover what makes us laugh and how to discover more about ourselves on stage. The course runs for 8 weeks from the 20th of July to the 7th of September. Price includes GST.
