🔥 CLOWNING – SUMMER SCHOOL INTENSIVE 🗓 2 WEEKS — 10 DAYS OF TRAINING 📍 Melbourne Actors Guild | 🎟 Limited to 16 Participants With Fabio Motta Join us for a transformative two-week clowning intensive. A joyful, embodied exploration of the ridiculous, courageous, playful and deeply human creature that is your clown. Designed for actors, clowns, creatives and performers, this training invites you to embrace the unexpected, rediscover the pleasure of play and develop greater presence, authenticity and freedom on stage and screen. 🎈 WEEK 1: Clown Foundations Discover Your Clown State Through games (lots of games!), physical explorations and improvisation, we will rediscover the joy of play, build the courage to take risks, embrace failure and uncover the comedy hiding in the unexpected. Rooted in Philippe Gaulier's teachings of Le Jeu (the pleasure of play), this week places the performer at the centre of the creative process in discovering your clown state! By exploring spontaneity, openness and genuine connection with the audience, you'll begin to discover your unique clown state - where your unsocialised self and imperfections become your greatest strengths, and the unexpected becomes an invitation to play. 🎈 WEEK 2: Advanced Clown Find Your Clown's Body,Voice, Rhythm & World Now that you've begun to discover your clown state, it's time to explore how your clown moves, speaks and plays! Building on the foundations of Week 1, we'll dive deeper into your clown's physicality, voice, rhythm and relationship with the audience. Through improvisation, partner work and playful experimentation, we'll explore status, the art of finding the game or theme, and the delightful possibilities that emerge when clowns encounter one another. You'll also be introduced to the foundations of devising clown routines, learning how to transform spontaneous discoveries into theatrical material, both independently and collaboratively. ✅ WHAT YOU'LL GAIN Authentic stage presence: develop a deeper connection with yourself, your fellow performers and your audience.
