Service Description

Theatre as Play: Scene Study Intesnive With Fabio Motta 3rd - 8th of August (Except for Thursday 6th of August) Monday to Friday: 6.30pm-9.30pm (4 evenings) Then, Saturday: 10am-5pm What if there was a scene study class that prioritised how well you connect with your scene partner and the play itself? Join this weekly intensive to help you discover greater freedom, presence, and connection in your work. Learn to live in the present moment, deepen your emotional connection, develop sensitivity, and build a more authentic relationship with your scene partner and the audience - while loving every second of it. This class forensically examines what actors need in order to find complicité and play well on stage and screen, whether in rehearsal, performance, or audition. It reveals how actors can remain present and connected - not only with their scene partner, but also with the audience. Fabio will guide students through a series of games, improvisations, text work, and clown exercises designed to increase sensitivity and awareness, helping actors experience the pleasure of truly playing well on stage through complicité. A central part of the training focuses on learning complicité - the effortless connection and collaboration between actors, and between actors and audience. The work is grounded in the principle of bringing one’s authentic self to the stage. Strongly influenced by Philippe Gaulier’s flagship course Le Jeu, this methodology places the actor at the centre of the rehearsal process and gives them the confidence to play through themselves in any text or genre. Price: Early Bird: $600 incl.GST(book before July 1st) Full: $660 incl. GST * This workshop requires a minimum of 8 students to run and the max 16. Deposit is non-refundable.
